Pain Court and Tartan swimmers win gold at SWOSSAA
The SWOSSAA swimming championships was held Feb. 20 in Windsor at the WIATC.
OFSAA will be held on March 4 and 5th in Scarborough at the Pan Am Sports Centre.
WDSS:
Bree Eddleston had an amazing SWOSSAA championships. She is a two time SWOSSAA champion in the senior girls 100 breast and 100 IM. She qualified for OFSAA in both events and the 50 Free by clocking a time faster than the OFSAA time standard.
Valley Kloet had a personal best time in the junior girls 50 back to place fourth and also placed 11th in the 50 free and 12th in the 50 breast. Oliver Hooper placed 12th in both the jr boys 50 breast and 100 free.
The senior girls 4x50m free relay made of Julia Guenter, Valley Kloet, Samara Ulch-Dawe and Bree Eddleston, took four seconds off their time to end their season with success.
ESPC:
Cameron Schinkelshoek qualified for OFSAA in the Open boys 50 free and placed seventh and he also placed third in the 100 fly.
Gavin Schinkelshoek is a three time SWOSSAA champion in the Open boys 50 free, 100 free and 100 back. He qualified for OFSAA in all three events.
Xavier Caron is a two time SWOSSAA champion in the junior boys 50 free and 100 free. He qualified for OFSAA in both events.
Eric Qiu finished second in the junior boys 50 Breast and third in the 50 back. He qualified for OFSAA in the 50 breast.
Payton Rinas placed second in the Open girls 100 back and third in the 100 IM. She qualified for OFSAA in both events.
Sullivan Merilees placed 2nd in the jr girls 50 back.
Junior boys 4×50 Free relay: Harrison Walsh, Eric Qiu, Rino Basaneze and Xavier Caron. The boys are SWOSSAA Champions and qualified for OFSAA.
Junior boys 4×50 medley relay: Back – Xavier Caron, Breast – Harrison Walsh, Fly – Eric Qiu and Free – Rino Basaneze. The relay placed second and qualified for OFSAA.
