Quinn Matteis is golden at OUA swim meet

Swimming for the Univesity of Toronto Varsity Blues, Chatham’s Quinn Matteis reclaimed his 1500 freestyle title, touching the wall in 15:31.52, at the OUA swimming championships held in Markham on the weekend.
Now in his third year swimming at Toronto, Matteis previously won both the OUA and U Sports titles in the event in 2023.
Matteis also won a second gold at the OUA meet with his team in the 4x200m freestyle relay (7:23.14). He added a bronze in the men’s 400m freestyle.
Matteis is a graduate of Ursuline College Chatham.
Toronto is the top swimming program in the OUA, as The University of Toronto Varsity Blues once again swept the provincial banners with both the men’s and women’s teams claiming the overall titles at the 2025 OUA Swimming Championships.
The victory marked the 21st consecutive provincial title for the Toronto men and 71st overall in program history. Meanwhile, the U of T women claimed their 11th straight OUA banner and 35th in program history.
Toronto will host the U Sports swim meet March 1-4.
