Ainsworth, Reid lead their teams to OUA finals

Blenheim’s Laurin Ainsworth and her Brock Badgers women’s volleyball team is heading into the OUA finals.
Ainsworth, a fourth-year outside hitter, played a big role for Brock in the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) semifinal, where the No. 2 seed Brock Badgers women’s volleyball team defeated the No. 6 seed Windsor Lancers in a three-set sweep (25-18, 31-29, 25-17) on Friday, Feb. 28 at Brock’s Bob Davis Gymnasium to advance to the Quigley Cup final.
Ainsworth had 11 kills and registered 12 points in the semifinal matchup.
Brock Badgers women’s volleyball team will host the OUA Quigley Cup final against the No. 4 seed McMaster Marauders on Friday, March 7 at Bob Davis Gymnasium at 6 p.m. The Badgers defeated the Marauders in last year’s Quigley Cup final, winning 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-16) on March 8, 2024.

The No.4 Windsor Lancer men’s volleyball team advanced to the Forsyth Cup Finals Friday night with a 3-0 sweep of the York Lions, in front of a near sold out home crowd.
Chatham’s Kaden Reid had eight kills to go along with two blocks in the semifinal win. The Windsor Lancers will host the Forsyth Cup finals for the first time in program history on Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m. against the Queen’s Gaels in the Toldo Lancer Centre.
