Blain wins a pair of golds at U Sports track championship
Chatham’s Ayden Blain was a two-time gold medal winner at the U Sports track and field championships held in Windsor on the weekend.
A third-year sprinter with Western University’s men’s track and field team. Blain ran the anchor leg of the gold-medal-winning 4×200 relay. The team (Aaron Thompson, Josh Duckman, Robbie Menzies and Blain) finished with a time of 1:26.90. Guelph finished silver and Alberta took home the bronze
He was also fourth in the 60-metre hurdles in 8.12 seconds.
A graduate of Chatham-Kent Secondary School, Blain won another gold when Western captured the men’s team championship. Western’s women’s team also won gold.
