Brodie named to Saginaw Spirit Quarter Century team

Eberts’ T.J. Brodie TJ Brodie was recently named to the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit Quarter Century Team (2000-2025).

He was named to the Spirt’s second team, as part of an exercise all OHL teams are doing to honour some of their best players so far in the 21st Century

The 34 year-old Brodie was drafted by the Saginaw Spirit in the third round, 47th overall in the 2006 Priority Selection. Brodie became a full-time NHL defenseman during the 2011-12 season

Brodie played part of four years with Saginaw, before getting traded to the Barrie Colts in his last year in the OHL. Prior to the OHL, Brodie played his minor hockey in Dresden and with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones. He also played part of one year with the Leamington Flyers.

Brodie is approaching 1,000 games played as a NHL defenceman. He has played for the Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs and currently with the Chicago Blackhawks,
