Chatham’s Sasseville named a first-team all-American

 

Chatham’s Genevieve Sasseville and her relay teammates finished in seventh place in the 400 yard medley relay at the NCAA swimming and diving championships held this past weekend in Federal Way, Wash.

For being part of the relay team’s efforts, Sasseville was named as a NCAA first-team all-American.

Sasseville is a swimmer on the University of Southern California women’s swim team. She is in her senior year.

Caroline Famous, Kaityln Dobler, Genevieve Sasseville and Minna Abraham blasted a season-best 3:26.82. in the 400 yard medley relay. Sasseville swam the butterfly in a personal-best time.

USC was 11th overall in the team standings.

Sasseville and her team finished with a bronze medal in the 400 medley relay at the Big 10 championships.

Sasseville was named to the Big 10 2024-25 Winter All-Academic list last week. Sasseville is a three-time all-academic honouree.
