Chatham Maroons fill out off-ice staff
Filling out their coaching staff and front office, the Chatham Maroons tapped into their Alvinston Bees connections.
New head coach and general manager Brennan Feasey played senior hockey last year for Alvinston. In just 14 regular season games, Feasey put up video game numbers—with 27 goals and 47 points.
Feasey was also an assistant coach with the Maroons last season.
“Brennan brings a passion for the game, a commitment to player development, and a strong leadership presence behind the bench. We are excited to welcome him as Maroons head coach and look forward to the positive impact he will have on our program moving forward,” said in a message sent out by the Maroons’ ownership group of Bill and Karen Szekesy.
The Maroons also announced that Steven Szekesy and Scott Case will join Feasey as assistant coaches. Szekesy is a former Maroon defenceman.
Case was an assistant coach with the Alvinston Killer Bees last season and also played for them in the past.
Alvinston’s senior hockey team has had success both on the ice and off-the-ice. Alvinston is known of having a close-knit family atmosphere for players, while also enjoying a strong fan base. This upcoming season the Killer Bees will play in the Northern Premier Hockey League.
Scott’s brother Brett Case is joining the Maroons as an assistant general manager. Brett Case has played a big part in making the Killer Bees a success.
Bino Pereira, who has been the long-time goalie coach for the Maroons, is now the team’s billet coordinator and and in charge of game day operations, helping to ensure smooth execution of off-ice logistics.
Joseph Raaymakers from Chatham will serve as the Maroons goalie coach. A fromer member of the St Francis Xavier University X-Men hockey team, Raaymakers also played five season in the OHL.
Raaymakers, a current Killer Bees player, helped out coaching the Maroon goalies last season.
Dr. Stephan Lemak is returning as team chiropractor, and Brian Knowler returns as the Maroons’ Prevention Services Coordinator.
