Marcus wins player-of-the-week honour

Spencer Marcus
Chatham-Kent Barnstormer outfielder Spencer Marcus is putting together another quality season.
Marcus batted .545 last week with two home runs and seven RBI in efforts to help his Barnstormers maintain their hold on 4th place in the standings in a very tight race. For his efforts, he was named Intercounty Baseball League player of the week.
Marcus has been an outstanding player for the Barnstormers over the past two years. He recently became the first Chatham-Kent Barnstormers player to go over the 100 career hits milestone.
This season, Marcus is hitting .393 with four home runs and 21 RBI.
The Chatham native was the first player the Barnstormers signed.
The Barnstormers (16-14) are six games behind the division leaders Welland Jackfish.
Chatham-Kent plays tonight (July 23) in Toronto and this Saturday in Barrie, with the next home game taking place July 29 against London. The Barnstormers have lost five of their past six games.
