Mission

The Chatham-Kent Sports Network aims to promote, celebrate, and tell the stories of Chatham-Kent athletes, teams, and organizations, from youth to professionals.

We are committed to equitable coverage of sports and athletes. This involves:

  • We are committed to 50-50 coverage for women’s and men’s sports.
  • We are committed to telling stories of LGBTQ+ athletes and issues
  • We are committed to telling stories of Indigenous and Black athletes.
  • We are committed to bringing to light issues involving socio-economic, toxic masculinity, substance use, misogyny, heteronormativity, and racism in sports, and advocating for change.
  • We are committed to broadening knowledge and providing resources related to mental health.
  • We are committed to combatting all forms of oppression and social injustice in sports
  • We are committed to celebrating the good in Chatham-Kent, but also to be honest.
