Griffith Scores In First Professional Game

Providence-BruinsWallaceburg’s Seth Griffith opened his professional hockey career they way he has at every level in his hockey career, by filling the net.

Playing for the Boston Bruins’ top affiliate, the American Hockey League’s Providence Bruins, Griffith scored in a 5-2 Providence win over the Portland Pirates.

After Portland took a 1-0 lead in the first frame, Griffith tied things up for the Bruins in the second period. On a feed from Zach Trotman, Griffith walked in on a breakaway and buried a shot high blocker side on Portland goalie Mike Lee.

Griffith was a healthy scratch in Providence’s first three games before finally cracking the lineup.

Griffith was a 5th round pick of the Boston Bruins two seasons ago. He was cut by Boston during the preseason this year, without suiting up in a game for the Bruins.
