Kings and 73s Playing in Ridgetown
Ridgetown, ON – East Kent Arena in Ridgetown will be home for one nigh to a Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League match up. The rural Chatham-Kent town will welcome the Dresden Kings and Essex 73s for a regular season game this week. The puck drops Friday February 4, at 7:30pm.
The game marks a series of out of town matchups exposing Kent and Lambton County’s to the Great Lakes League. Recently, the Wallaceburg Lakers played a home game in Petrolia, the previous home of their Junior B affiliate.
Friday’s game in Ridgetown is likely to be a heated affair as Dresden is desperately fighting for the league’s final playoff position. Earlier this week, the Dresden Kings were hurdled by the Blenheim Blades for the final playoff spot, and then given another blow as Blenheim beat first place Wallaceburg.
For Dresden to qualify for the playoffs, they will need to win their final two games, while Blenheim needs to lose their final two games.
