Ridgetown Royals reach OFSAA Curling, win SWOSSAA
The Ridgetown Royals Boys Curling team will be taking their rocks to Thunder Bay for the OFSAA Curling Championships after winning the SWOSSAA final Monday.
Ridgetown finished second during the regular season, three points behind first place Chatham-Kent Secondary School who the Royals defeated in the SWOSSAA final. The final was a rematch of the Kent Championships, in which the Ridgetown Royals also came out victorious.
During the SWOSSAA final, Ridgetown got out to an early lead and never looked back beating the CKSS Golden Hawks 12-3.
The Ridgetown team which features Crawford McKinlay, Billy Biren, Rob Ingram, and Willi Boldt, also beat Windsor Holy Names and Sarnia St. Christophers to reach the final against CKSS.
The OFSAA finals in Thunder Bay will take place from March 23rd to March 26th.
