Ridgetown Splits Opening Day Draws at OFSAA Curling
Ridgetown District High School got off to a strong start at the OFSAA Curling Championships in Thunder Bay Wednesday winning 8-1 against Malvern Collegiate Institute in their first draw.
Ridgetown was powered to the victory by a strong 6th end in which they stole 3 points from Malvern. Malvern advanced from the Toronto District School Board.
In their second draw against Fort Frances High School, the Ridgetown Royals found themselves down 5-2 after 6 ends. Although they scored 2 in the 7th to make the score 5-4, the team of Crawford McKinlay, Billy Biren, Rob Ingram, and Willi Boldt couldn’t manage another point in the 8th and final end, losing a nailbiter 5-4 to Fort Frances.
