Wheatley Sharks One Game From Elimination After Losing Game 4
Wheatley, ON – The Wheatley Sharks have their backs against a wall in their Great Lakes Junior C Final series against the Belle River Canadiens. Wheatley lost game 4 at home Monday night 5-2 in front of a large and loud home crowd to put them down 3-1 in the best of seven series, meaning they’re now only one loss from elimination.
As he has for much of the playoffs, Belle River scorer Nik Dobrich paced his team scoring 2-goals in the game, while Spencer Jean, Donovan Plummer, and Travis Brown also scored for Belle River.
Shawn Quigley and Curtis Anderson both scored third period goals for the Wheatley Sharks.
Game 5 now moves back to Belle River on Friday where the Canadiens, who are unbeaten at home this postseason, will look to cap off their second consecutive Great Lakes title. Wheatley now needs to win three straight games in order to secure their first ever Great Lakes title.
