Brady Campbell Vying for Sutherland Cup With the Elmira Sugar Kings
After the St. Thomas Stars and Blenheim resident Brett Hope were eliminated from the Sutherland Cup round robin, fellow Blenheim native Brady Campbell and his Elmira Sugar Kings are Chatham-Kent lone connection to the Sutherland Cup final.
Campbell and the Sugar Kings will face the Niagara Falls Canucks in a best of seven series starting this Friday, April 29. In their final round robin meeting with St. Thomas, Campbell scored the game winning goal for Elmira as they downed the Stars 4-1. Hope had an assist in the games opening goal by underage forward Bo Horvat.
Then, in a win and they’re in situation for Elmira playing the Niagara Falls Canucks in the final game of the round robin, Brady Campbell scored an unassisted shorthanded second period goal. Campbell also assisted on Josh MacDonald’s overtime winning goal as Elmira won their way into a seven game series against Niagara Falls with their 4-3 OT victory.
