Chatham-Kent High School Sports Roundup
It was a busy night of high school sports in Chatham-Kent Thursday with rugby, football, and soccer on the KCSSAA schedule.
In junior football action, the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks fell to 0-4 on the season after losing 35-26 to the Blenheim Bobcats. Blenheim featured a balanced offense led by quarterback Ben Bartlett, while CKSS was powered by Adam Labute who had 3 touchdowns for the Golden Hawks in the loss. With the win Blenheim improved to 2-1 this year.
In senior girls soccer, the John McGregor Secondary School Panthers shut out the Tilbury Titans 5-0. Laura Polowick scored twice for the Panthers, while Rachel Varga, Destiny Marshall, and Haley Piett scored singles for John McGregor. Maddison Dupuis was named game star for Tilbury.
Finally, in Girls Rugby. the Blenheim Bobcats kept the CKSS Golden Hawks winless on the season with 7 tries and 1 conversion on their way to a 39-5 win.
Friday features a single game on the KCSSAA schedule with the UCC Lancers taking on the John McGregor Panthers in junior football action.
