Tartans Ground the Golden Hawks in Junior Football
It didn’t seem like a fair fight as the Wallaceburg District Secondary School Tartans ran away with their game against the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks, winning by a final score of 42-10.
The Tartans were led by a dominating performance from Jonah Pataki who rushed for 4 touchdowns, and caught another. Throughout the first half, the Tartans offense, led by Pataki, was nearly unstoppable finding holes in the CKSS defense and exposing them on both the run and passing games.
CKSS got on the board in the second half as Tristan Allen kicked a field goal and Nate Shaw ran back a kickoff for a touchdown.
The win put Wallaceburg on top of the KCSSAA Junior Boys Football standings at a perfect 3-0. Ursuline is also unbeaten, however, the Lancers have played one less game than Wallaceburg.
John McGregor and CKSS find themselves at the bottom of the barrel with both teams still searching for their first wins. CKSS struggled Thursday, as they have much of the season, to put together a consistent defence. After only 3 games this season, CKSS has allowed 103 points, while scoring only 42. In comparison, the Wallaceburg Tartans have allowed only 17 points in 3 games, and have scored 98 points.
