Two Blenheim Residents Meet in the Jr. B Sutherland Cup
Most Chatham-Kent residents are aware of the successes of Blenheim’s Brett Hope who has been starring for the St. Thomas Stars this season in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League; however, another Blenheim native is also vying for a Sutherland Cup title with the Elmira Sugar Kings.
Brady Campbell, a former Blenheim Minor Hockey, Chatham-Kent Cyclones, and Blenheim Blades player has been lighting the lamp all season with the Elmira Sugar Kings, who will meet the St. Thomas Stars tonight (Wednesday) in Elmira. The two teams will also play Saturday in St. Thomas.
So far in the Sutherland Cup, the Niagara Falls Canucks have defeated both the Elmira Sugar Kings and St. Thomas Stars. During the playoffs, Hope has scored 6 goals and 12 assists in 17 games, while Campbell has put up 7 goals and 7 assists, also in 17 games.
In the regular season, Campbell was Elmira’s leading goal scorer with 26 tallies, while he also added 26 assists. Hope scored 18 goals and added 15 helpers for St. Thomas.
