Brady Campbell Scores To Give Elmira 2-1 Sutherland Cup Lead
Blenheim’s Brady Campbell continued to lead his Elmira Sugar Kings toward a GOJHL Sutherland Cup championship scoring an empty net goal for the Sugar Kings in their 3-1 game three win over the Niagara Falls Canucks.
After Niagara jumped out to an early 1-0 win in the game, Elmira bounced back with goals in the first and second periods to take a lead, before Campbell put the game away with only 28-second remaining in the game. Now, the Elmira Sugar Kings hold a 2-1 edge in the best of seven series.
After scoring twice and adding an assist in Elmira’s 4-2 game one victory, he continued his point producing ways putting up 3 points in game two of the series.
In game two, Campbell assisted on a first period goal by Andrew Smith, followed by a late third period goal to pull within one, and the game tying goal off the stick of Shane Smith with udner two minutes to play. Niagara would score in overtime to win the game.
After three games in the 2011 Sutherland Cup between the Elmira Sugar Kings and Niagara Falls Canucks, Blenheim’s Brady Campbell has racked up 7 points including 3 goals.
With a 2-1 series lead, game 4 now returns to Elmira Thursday, May 5th at 7:00pm.
