Last Minute Goal Lifts Wallaceburg to Devilish Win

In a battle between the Wallaceburg Red Devils and London Blue Devils, Wallaceburg squeked out a last minute win to pull to .500 on the season. Joel Shepley scored a shorthanded goal with only 15 seconds remaining in the game ot give his team a much needed 10-9 win.

Dillon Lapointe and Jordan Durston each had two goals and two assists for the Wallaceburg Red Devils, while goaltender Haven Moses made 50 saves and added three assists in the win.

Shepley, who lifted his team to their 5th win of the season with his last minute goal, also chipped in with three assists on his way to being named the game’s first star. Other Wallaceburg goals were scored by Jordan VanDamme, Brendan Shepley, Clint Lamarsh, Reid Miller and Travis Bentley.

With the win, the Wallaceburg Red Devils now sit tied with the Windsor Clippers for first in the OLA Far West division, however Windsor has three games in hand on Wallaceburg. Wallaceburg now waits an entire week before their next game in which they will face the Sarnia Pacers at home, Wednesday, May 25 at 7:30pm.
