Dempster Wins Northern Summer Nationals Following DQ
Although Michigan’s Dustin Daggett took the checkered flag in Saturday’s Northern Summer Nationals series opening event at South Buxton Raceway, it was Alton, Ontario’s Keith Dempster who took home top prize after Daggett’s car was disqualified in a post race inspection.
The Northern Summer Nationals series, which was scheduled to begin Friday at Ohsweken Speedway, but was rained out, has two more stops this summer, one at Ohsweken August 19th, followed by the series finale August 20th at South Buxton. The top local finisher in Saturday’s event at South Buxton was Kyle Patrick of Tilbury who finished 6th following Daggett’s disqualification.
Tyler Lozon took his first career win at South Buxton Raceway in the 20 lap Dover Sanitation Sport Stocks feature. Joel Dick won his third feature of the season taking a start to finish victory in the Schinkels Meats UMP Modifieds race. The other two feature races of the night were won by Ridgetown’s Dale Glassford, who also won his third event of th season in the Windride Transportation UMP late models, while Blenheim’s Shawn Jones won his 4th straight Tirecraft Comp 4s feature.
