Fantuz Impressing Teammates, Still No Season in Sight
Recently, the NFL and NFLPA met for back to back days in Maryland, and will be meeting again soon in Chicago with hopes of finalizing a deal which will see NFL teams back in training camp and on the field this fall, with the week 1 schedule tentatively set for mid-September.
Currently, Andy Fantuz and a group of his Chicago Bears teammates have been working out on field in practices led by Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. Although the workouts have not involved defenders, reports from multiple Chicago news sites are stating Fantuz was able to, “display impressive athletic ability and good hands while running routes.”
With an absence of receiving depth on the Chicago Bears current roster, the team may rely heavily on Fantuz, who was the CFL’s leader in receiving yards, and Most Outstanding Canadian, last season as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
