Speculation Pointing to Suisham's Return to Steelers
This week, the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette reported that experts are speculating Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham will be re-signed as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ kicker at the conclusion of the NFL lockout.
Currently the Steelers only have one kicker signed, Swayze Walters, who has never played an NFL game. Walters has been signed and cut by the Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders in past years before signing with the Steelers in February.
Suisham, an unrestricted free agent would have to come to terms with the Pittsburgh Steelers following the lockout to be eligible to play this season, however, with his strong play during the final weeks of last season and into the playoffs, Suisham is expected to be re-signed by the Steelers when NFL operations resume.
The Steelers would be crazy not to re-sign Shaun Suisham. He is dependable and a very solid presence in the clubhouse.
