U-16 Chatham Strikers Earn First Win
The Chatham Strikers earned their first victory of the season on Monday defeating the Oakridge Heat 4-3.
With three players out due to injury the team responded with their best offensive game of the season. Offensively Kelsey Reis scored a pair of first half goals off set pieces. Second half goals were by Kennedy Carr – scored on a great individual effort – and Beth Cowan scored what would turn out out be the eventual winner .
Defensively it was another solid effort turned in from Katelynn Roberts and Brooke Armstrong keeping things clean on the backline and moving the ball forward.
The win gives the team a 1-1-1 record early in the season.
The teams next game will be this Friday when they travel to London to take on the Oakridge Wildfire.
