A Chance for Revenge For Shaun Suisham Tonight as the Steelers Face the Redskins

Tonight, Shaun Suisham will get back onto the NFL season, against his former team the Washington Redskins. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Suisham’s current team, face the Redskins tonight in Washington at 7:30pm (Friday).

Although Suisham was late to camp due to contractual issues stemming from the NFL’s new collective bargaining agreement, Coach Mike Tomlin stated in a recent press conference that he does expect the starters, including those who were late to camp, to get into tonight’s game.

“Look for our starters to play a normal number of snaps in the first preseason opportunity, 10 plays or less, somewhere around there offensively and defensively. We’re just excited about this step. We’ve got a lot of men, of course to evaluate, 90, and a short time in which to do it,” Tomlin explained in a Steelers media release.

Suisham played 12 games for the Washington Redskins in 2009 before being cut by the team. As a Redskin Suisham went 18-for-21 on field goal attempts. Last season after being picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Suisham was 14-for-15 in the regular season before helping the Steelers to the Super Bowl final where the team eventually lost to Green Bay.
