Andy Fantuz Reportedly Impressing at Chicago Bears Camp
Multiple Chicago sports writers and bloggers are reporting that Chatham’s Andy Fantuz has been impressing fans and staff early on in Chicago Bears camp.
The 6’4″ receiver, a John McGregor Secondary School, and University of Western Ontario graduate, earned similar praise this summer during the lockout while participating in informal workouts led by quarterback Jay Cutler.
Last season, Fantuz was named the CFL’s most outstanding Canadian, but critics wondered how his skill set would transfer to the NFL game and against NFL defenders. Without Fantuz this season, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are off to their worst start in years collecting only 1 win in their first 5 games. Although Fantuz’ departure isn’t the only aspect causing this slow start for Saskatchewan, offense has been the Roughriders’ achilles heel with the team sitting last in the CFL with points for.
