Decision Day Looming for Andy Fantuz

With each passing week, decision day gets closer for Andy Fantuz. Speculation has bounced from positive to grim and back again throughout the last month as the Canadian receiver battles for a roster spot with the Chicago Bears.

Last week, Fantuz pulled in his first NFL catch,  a 6-yard reception, however, was hardly a favourite target for the Bears’ passing game with 8 players making more catches than Fantuz, and seven pulling in over 20-yards each.

The Bears offense struggled in the game however managing only 13 points in a 41-13 loss to the New York Giants.

This week, the Chicago Bears will continue to audition Fantuz as they face the Tennessee Titans. Time for Fantuz to impress however is running out, and bloggers are speculating he may be destined for the practice squad without a breakout performance in the final two preseason games.

Last week, NBC Sports Chicago reported that Fantuz sat as high as 4th on the Bears receiving depth chart.
