Successful Summer for the Chatham Skating Club

Six Competitive Members of the Chatham Skating Club attended various competitions over the summer.
 
At Skate Detroit on July 19 – 23, Ashley Glassco and Katrina de Liberato, had strong performances during their skating programs, while at Minto Summer Skate held in Ottawa on July 28 – 31, Chelsea Robinson and her partner Nick Toth of Blenheim, showcased themselves well in the Novice Dance category.  Both of these competitions are attended by National skaters from all over the world.
 
Back in the Western Ontario Skating Section at the Summer Sizzle held at the RIM Park Arena in Waterloo on Aug 5-7, 3 skaters took to the ice.  Olivia Stallaert landed on the podium with a Silver Medal in the Juvenile Ladies category.  Zachary Stallaert just missed the podium as he received a 4th place in the Starskate Preliminary Men level.  Katrina de Liberato skated in the Ladies Junior level, receiving a 10th in the Short program and an 11th in Freeskate program. 
 
At the final competition for the summer, 4 skaters skated at the Figure SKating Boutique Summer Skate held in Thornhill on Aug 11-14, in the Central Ontario Skating Section.  Ashley Glassco skated at the Pre-Novice Ladies level and  made the podium twice as she received a  Gold Medal in her Freeskate program and a Bronze Medal in the Short Program, giving her an overall 2nd placement and allowing her to qualify for the finals, where she had a strong showing.  Paige Newman, who skated in the Novice Ladies,  placed 7th in the Short Program and 8th in the Freeskate Program, giving her an overall 7th placement.   Dance partners, Chelsea Robinson and Nick Toth of Blenheim, placed 7th in the Cha Cha, 8th in the Starlight and placed 6th in their Freeskate, giving them an overall 7th placement in Novice Dance.  Katrina de Liberato, who skated in Junior Ladies, received 10th in the Short program and 9th in the Freeskate program, giving her an overall 9th placement.
