Suisham Kicks Last Second Field Goal to Lift Steelers to Win Over Colts
Shaun Suisham kicked what could likely be his biggest field goal of the season, in only his team’s third game as he pounded one through the uprights with only 4 seconds left on the clock to lift his Pittsburgh Steelers over the Indianapolis Colts Sunday. The Steelers won the game 23-20 on Suisham’s kick.
The 38-yard field goal was Suisham’s third successful kick of the night as he also kicked a 48-yarder in the first quarter to open the scoring, followed by a 44-yard kick earlier in the 4th quarter.
Although Suisham did miss a 36-yard attempt in the game, his last second heroics quieted critics who suggested Suisham was not a big kick player.
This season, Suisham is 4-for-6 on field goals, and is perfect on extra points.
Last season, Suisham helped the Pittsburgh Steelers reach the Super Bowl, a game they ultimately lost to the Green Bay Packers.
To be fair, he didn’t quiet any critics. In a league where kickers need to be consistent he better start making those 30 yarders or he’ll be back home.
