Seth Griffith to Represent OHL in SUBWAY Super Series
After representing Team Canada at last spring’s Under-18 World Championships, and attending Tampa Bay Lightning training camp, the achievements keep coming for Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith.
The young hockey star, who is currently scoring at more than a point per game pace with the London Knights has been selected to represent the OHL in the SUBWAY Super Series November 10 in Ottawa against Team Russia.
Griffith has 19 points in 14 games for the London Knights thus far this season, and was named the OHL’s Player of the Week in early October.
In an official OHL press release, Team OHL coach Scott Walker had this to say about the selection of his roster, “The players that have been selected to represent the OHL in the SUBWAY Super Series have been given an incredible opportunity to display their abilities against tough competition where they can show the coaching staff and Hockey Canada that they deserve a spot on Team Canada this winter. The OHL has a history of success in this event, and I am confident that the players we have assembled for these games will compete hard against the Russians.”
The OHL currently holds a perfect 16-0 record against Team Russia, however the Russians have been sending stronger rosters each season.
The OHL will play two games against Team Russia, but Seth Griffith will only be in the lineup for the first game, November 10, in Ottawa.
Previously, Dresden’s TJ Brodie competed for the OHL in the SUBWAY Super Series.
