Golden Hawks Rebound From Season Opening Loss to Defeat the Panthers
After losing a suprising game to the Ridgetown Royals to open their season, the reigning Kent Champion CKSS Golden Hawks boys hockey team rebounded Monday at Memorial Arena defeating the John McGregor Panthers 5-2.
John McGregor caught the Golden Hawks sleeping early in the first with goals from Justin Baker and Mitch Ross. CKSS however, would quickly bounce back and tie it up by period’s end with goals from Dylan Bell, and Tyler Harwood.
In the second period, Nolan Smith, got things rolling for the Golden Hawks scoring the eventual game winner, followed by an insurance goal from Drew Marlatt.
Blake Padbury added the final goal for the CKSS Golden Hawks in the third period to send the Hawks to their 5-2 victory.
CKSS will next faces Lambton-Kent in a rematch of last year’s Kent final Wednesday, November 30 at Erickson Arena in Chatham. JMSS will face Ridgetown next Monday at Memorial Arena at 2:30pm.
