Greg Houston Named Guelph Gryphons Male Athlete of the Week

Chatham’s Greg Houston has been named the Male Athlete of the Week for the University of Guelph Gryphons.

Houston is a fifth year OUA player, but is in his first season with the Guelph Gryphons after transferring to the school from Wilfird Laurier. Houston led his Guelph Gryphons to a 3-2 win over the Windsor Lancers on the weekend with 11 kills in the games.

The 6-1 Gryphons are tied for 3rd in the OUA, in no small part due to Houston’s performance with the team this season.

The former Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks star ranks among the best blockers in the OUA, sitting in the top ten in total blocks, and blocks per game.

Houston and the Guelph Gryphons next travel to play the first place University of Western Ontario Mustangs this coming Saturday.
