Chatham-Kent and Gracie Barra jiu-jitsu stand out Justin Steele took his talents to the fight capital of the world over the weekend and came out a double gold medalist.

The 16-year old Steele added to his incredible year of competition as he competed in the Grappler’s Quest 2011 World Series of Grappling and Jiu-Jitsu in Las Vegas, Nevada and won gold in both advanced divisions.

Over 100 academies were in attendance on th weekend and Grapplers Quest is one of the largest organizations for the grappling arts in the entire world.

Steele also took gold at the Bravado Jiu Jitsu championships in Brampton earlier in the summer and he continues to impress in his quest to push himself to the jiu jitsu world championships sometime next year.

Steele brings a very tough, cerebral approach to the game and is a deadly quick with his transition game from the guard. He has been training Braziliam Jiu Jitsu from September 2009 and was crowned 2010 Grapplers Quest Canadian National Champion.

Justin and his teammates’ next big challenge takes place on December 3rd in Toronto at the NAGA competition. The event is a part of the MMA Expo that will be held the weekend before UFC 140 and many UFC stars will be in attendance at the Expo.

CKSN.ca will be there to cover the NAGA event so stay tuned for video, pictures and results from the event and keep it here for all your Chatham-Kent mixed martial arts coverage.
