Derek Whitson Going For Gold at World Sledge Hockey Challenge

Chatham’s Derek Whitson will go for a gold medal Saturday as a member of Team Canada at the World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Calgary.

The game will take place at 6pm ET and be televised on TSN2.

Thursday, Canada defeated Japan 7-2 to move onto the gold medal game against the United States. In the preliminary round on Wednesday, Canada defeated the United States 3-1.

Through four games in the tournament, Canada is undefeated, while Chatham’s Derek Whitson has been held pointless thus far.
