Dane Fox Ranked 48th in NHL Draft Midterm Rankings
Dane Fox, who plays for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League, has been listed as the 48th best North American skater for the upcoming 2012 NHL draft.
Thamesville’s Fox started this season with the London Knights before being traded in early January to the Erie Otters. Through 36 games this season, Fox has 14 goals and 20 assists, including a goal and an assist in his first two games with the Otters.
Last season, Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith was ranked 152nd in the ranking, but went undrafted. Griffith did however get invited to participate in the Tampa Bay Lightning’s training camp. Griffith currently leads the London Knights in scoring and sits in the top 5 in OHL scoring.
With Fox’s ranking, it is unlikely he will slip through the draft without being selected.
Sarnia Sting star Nail Yakupov is the number one North American ranked skater, while Sweden’s Filip Forsberg is the top ranked European skater.
