Chatham Maroons win 4-3 over St. Marys
The Chatham Maroons winning streak is now at five games after the Maroons 4-3 win over St. Marys in front of 700 fans at Chatham Memorial Arena on Sunday night.
With the win the Maroons hit .500 for the first time this season with a 8-8-0-0 record in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Western Conference. The Maroons are in firth place, just one point behind St. Marys. Down 3-1 heading into the third period, Chatham scored three unanswered goals to earn the victory.
Chatham’s Brendan Goun scored his first goal of the year in the second period. In the third period Braeden Burke, Josh Cleary and David Brown scored for the Maroons. Brown scored the game winner with just over a minute left to give Chatham its first lead of the game.
Kaleb Papineau earned the victory in net for Chatham.
The Maroons will now play out of their division for the next two games, playing in Stratford on Friday and hosting Caledonia on Sunday.
