Blenheim Bobcats Cap Off Perfect Season, JMSS Upsets UCC

The Blenheim Bobcats Senior Girls Volleyball team defended their Kent championship and did so in fine fashion, ending the season with an incredible 30-0 record.

Friday night, the Blenheim Bobcats defeated the Pain Court Patriotes 25-21, 25-10, and 25-23 to win the Kent “A” title.

Blenheim will welcome North Lambton Secondary School this Thursday in the SWOSSAA semi-finals.

At the Junior “A” level, the Chatham Christian Flames were crowned Kent champs winning the final 3 games to 1.

In the “AA-AAAA” level, the John McGregor Panthers pulled out their first senior girls championship in 5 years, upsetting the UCC Lancers in five sets.

The JMSS Panthers edged UCC 25-23, 21-25, 25-11, 15-25, and 15-11 to capture their first Kent championship since 2007. Although they were denied a Kent title last year, the Panthers did move on to collect a bronze medal at OFSAA.

JMSS will travel to Sarnia St. Christophers this Thursday for the “AA” SWOSSAA semi-final, while UCC will welcome Sarnia Northern to town Wednesday night in the “AAAA” semi.
