Chesley Heinhuis of Chatham ended her collegiate hockey career at Union College in Schenectady, New York, this past weekend.

Chesley and her Dutchwomen dropped a pair of road games, 6-2 against Quinnipiac on Feb. 17 and 3-0 against Princeton University on Feb. 18, to finish their 2011-2012 season with a disappointing 4-26-4 record.

A 2008 graduate of John McGregor Secondary School, Chelsey saw action in 33 games this season, scoring one goal and picking up three assists. The 5-foot-10 inch defenceman played a total of 132 games during her four-year career. She had four goals and 12 assists.

Chesley, a neuroscience major, was twice named to the All-ECAC Academic Team during her time at Union.
Prior to attending the school, she played a season for the Southwest Wildcats of the Provincial Women’s Hockey League. She was also a four-year member of the John McGregor’s hockey team.

Chesley is the daughter of Richard and Fredericka Heinhuis.

Good luck, Chesley, in your future endeavors.
