Deja Vu, LKCS and CKSS Battle For Kent Final

Game winning shootout save in 2011 Kent Hockey Final between CKSS and LKCS

Last year’s Kent Boys hockey final was a thriller, needing overtime, and then a shootout to decide the game. The CKSS Golden Hawks entered last year’s final as underdogs, and will again travel to Dresden this Thursday to face the LKCS Cardinals as underdogs.

Lambton-Kent swept the season series defeating CKSS 3-2 and 1-0.

To get to the finals, Dresden (LKCS) shutout the Wallaceburg Tartans 2-0 last Thursday afternoon. Jesse Welch and Owen Welch picked up the goals for Dresden, while Steve Tricker grabbed the shutout in net.

CKSS defeated the Ridgetown Royals 4-2 in the other semifinal to advance with John Montgomery scoring two goals, and Drew Marlatt and Lucas Stanhope each potting singles.

Last year’s final was a 3-2 shootout thriller and this year’s edition is expected to be a nailbiter as well.

Puck drops for the game at 2:30pm on Thursday in Dresden.
