Griffith Scores Hat Trick to Lift Knights to Win, Leads League
Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith broke out in Thursday night Ontario Hockey League action, scoring a hat trick to lead his London Knights to a 5-0 win over the Windsor Spitfires.
Not only did his three goals, one in each period of the game, lift the London Knights to the win, but it also vaulted Griffith to the league lead in goal scoring and pulls him with striking distance of the overall points race.
Griffith now has 39 goals through 51 games, which is one more than Ottawa’s Tyler Toffoli. Toffoli however, leads the OHL in scoring with 38 goals and 40 assists for 78 points. Griffith sits in third in league scoring, 7 points back of Toffoli.
With nearly 20 games left in the season, it isn’t unthinkable that Griffith, who’s London Knights are the top ranked Major Junior team in Canada, could catch Toffoli for the league scoring lead.
Griffith is currently unranked for the June NHL Priority Draft, however his scoring exploits this season have undoubtedly drawn the attention of NHL scouts.
Griffith and the London Knights host Plymouth in London Friday night.
How is this guy not ranked yet for the Priority Draft? I know he’s on the league’s best team but there’s a reason the Knights are #1, and Seth Griffith is one of those reasons. Scouts, take notice!
