Tricker Treat, LKCS Tops CKSS For Kent Crown – See Photos
Dresden’s Scott Tricker wasn’t giving treats Thursday at the Lambton-Kent Memorial Agricultural Centre, in fact, he wasn’t even giving out rebounds. The LKCS Cardinals netminder shut the door on the CKSS Golden Hawks lifting his team to a 3-1 win, and a Kent Boys Hockey Championship.
CKSS outshot Dresden 38-12 in the game, but Tricker stopped the Golden Hawks, last year’s Kent Champions at every turn, allowing the final goal of the game, his only goal against, with less than half a second remaining on the clock. Tricker shutout the Wallaceburg Tartans 2-0 in the Kent Semi-Final to advance to Thursday’s championship game.
Trent Fox scored the game winning goal on a partial breakaway, firing one past the glove of CKSS goalie Justin Pratt. The eventual winner came in the final 5 minutes of play. Fox also added a last minute empty net goal in front of a large home crowd.
Both teams will advance to SWOSSAA next week.
