Hawks, Cardinals Shot Down in SWOSSAA Semis
Chatham-Kent’s top two boys high school hockey failed to make it past the SWOSSAA semi-finals Wednesday nigth as both the CKSS Golden Hawks and LKCS Cardinals lost to their Lambton opponents.
Sarnia St. Christopher’s dismantled the Kent Champion LKCS (Dresden) Cardinals, defeating Dresden 9-1 in the SWOSSAA “A-AA” semi-final.
Cole McDonald had the only goal for the Lambton-Kent Cardinals in the loss.
In the “AAA-AAAA” semi-final at Erickson Arena in Chatham, the CKSS Golden Hawks were doubled up by the Lambton Central (Petrolia) Lancers 6-3.
Lucas Stanhope scored two goals for the Golden Hawks while John Montgomery had the other CKSS goal.
In girls action, the Ridgetown Royals girls team won their “A-AA” semi-final to advance to the SWOSSAA final next week.
