Chatham’s Ryan Jones scored a goal and added two assists to lead his Edmonton Oilers to a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets Sunday afternoon.

The 3-point game give Ryan Jones 7-points in his last 6 games.

Sunday, Jones scored early in the second period for the Oilers, with assists going to Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ryan Whitney to tie the game 1-1.

Later in the period, he assisted on a Ladislav Smid goal, which put the Edmonton Oilers up 3-2 over the Blue Jackets.

Late in the third period, while killing a penalty, Jones picked up his third point of the game assisting on Eric Belanger’s marker which made the score 6-3 for Edmonton, the way the game would end.

The 7-point hot streak for Jones comes in the closing weeks of the season for the Oilers veteran, setting a career high in points for Jones. Last season, Jones scored a career high 25 points, however with several games still to be played, Jones already has 32 points this season.

Jones’ goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets was his 17th of the season, one shy of his career best 18, which he scored last year.
