UCC Secures Hold on First in Girls Rugby
The UCC Lancers continued their dominance in the KCSSAA high school rugby league defeating the Blenheim Bobcats 29-7 Friday.
The win locks up first overall for the UCC Lancers.
Rachel King played an excellent game for the UCC Lancers scoring three tries for Ursuline. Chelsea Broad and Julie Schinkel had the other tries for the Lancers. Gabby Desbiens also kicked two converts for UCC.
Breanne Nicholas scored Blenheim’s lone try in a game which could have put Blenheim in contention for first overall, but now leaves them solidly in control of second.
“Our tackling was not up to our usual standard, which led to some long tries,” said Blenheim coach Brian Hall in an email to CKSN. “Something to work on in the coming weeks”
Maids of the match were Justine Van Herk for UCC and Mary Boldts for Blenheim.
