Finals Set For Senior Soccer
Four one goal games decided who would play for the boys and girls KCSSAA Senior Soccer championships.
In the girls loop, the UCC Lancers shutout the John McGregor Panthers 1-0 in the first final. Alex Ciarma scored the only goal for UCC, and also shared the shutout in net with Sydney Authier.
The CKSS Golden Hawks emerged from the other girls semi-final, edging the Wallaceburg Tartans 2-1 in Chatham. Wallaceburg led 1-0 at the half off a Shalyn Richard goal, before the Golden Hawks bounced back in the second half, with goals from Jesse Chinnick and Ashley Paraskevopolous to take the win.
James Martin scored the only goal for the Tilbury Titans as they shutout the Wallaceburg Tartans in the first boys semi-final 1-0. Frankie Friesen was solid in net for Tilbury in the win.
Tilbury will face a strong UCC Lancers team after they defeated the CKSS Golden Hawks 2-1. Ronnie Stevens and Casey Gregg scored for UCC while Chris Lee had the lone CKSS goal.
The senior boys final will take place this Thursday, May 24 at 4:00pm in Tilbury, while the girls final will take place at 3:30pm at UCC.
