Havoc Suffer Season Opening Loss
In the first half, the Kent Havoc stayed in contention with Highland, who plays out of Fergus, Ontario. Tyler Gawley scored the lone try of the game for the Havoc, while Gary St. Pierre scored on a penalty kick to make the score 8-7 in favour of the Havoc at the end of one half.
The second half however, went almost entirely to Highland who carried the play and kept the Havoc pinned deep in their own zone, capitalizing on holes in the Havoc defense which led to long runs.
Highland scored four tries and converted two to bring their score to 31 in the second half, while the Kent Havoc were able to answer with only a penalty kick by Craig Arnel for 3 more points.
The Kent Havoc will next play Hamilton June 2 on the road before returning the Chatham June 9 to play Burlington.
