Second Time a Charm For Griffith?
Although the two grew up playing together, Griffith’s early birthday made him eligible a year before Fox, who will be up for his first NHL draft, and will almost undoubtedly be selected in the mid rounds.
Griffith however, went undrafted last season despite being an offensive dynamo in the regular season and playoffs.
This year, Griffith, playing on a team of high NHL draft picks out played the competition leading the London Knights in scoring with 85 points and 45 goals, and playing a key role in carrying the London Knights to the Memorial Cup final. In the OHL final, Griffith scored the series clinching goal.
After slipping through the cracks last season, Griffith made a strong impression at the Tampa Bay Lightning’s rookie camp playing alongside London Knights teammate, and Lightning first round draft pick Vladislav Namestnikov.
The first round of the NHL draft in Pittsburgh takes place Friday night, with the remainder of the rounds occuring Saturday. Stay tuned to CKSN as we’ll have immediate updates regarding both Seth Griffith and Dane Fox.
Pretty sure were biased in Wallaceburg, but come on already the guy puts up huge numbers everywhere he plays and has the hockey smarts to boot….Steal of the draft for sure in my book!
