Gracie Barra Chatham’s Steele Rolls Undefeated in Las Vegas
Steele competed in five matches in two different divisions, and no one could stop him on his way to taking home double gold
First he competed in the Advanced Teen Division, winning both his fights via submission, taking home his first piece of gold on the day. He then stepped up to the Adult Blue belt division, and proceeded to go undefeated there as well, with all his matches ending via submission.
It is a tremendous showing for the young Gracie Barra ace, who has spent the year pushing himself and stepping up to better competition in his young competitive career. Steele competed in the World Championships earlier in the year, and although he lost early in the event, it showed him more of what he will be up against in the future and was in incredible learning experience. Clearly, Steele isn’t afraid to mix it up with the very best in the world at his age and weight class, and he has set very specific goals for his jiu jitsu future. His guard game is extremely strong, and it is up to him to round out his offence and be able to attack from the top, rather than quickly pull to the comfort of his guard.
Things do not slow down for Steele, Thomas Armstrong and the growing team at Gracie Barra Chatham, as they will have 19 competitors (11 adults, 8 kids) competing in the Grapplers Quest North American Championships held on December 1st in London.
