Hawks Golden at OFSAA, See Photos
The Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks, Senior Boys Volleyball team lived up to their team nickname this past weekend, as the Hawks took home gold at the OFSAA ‘AAA’ championships in Kingston, Ontario.
CKSS finished first in their pool during round robin play, finishing a perfect 4-0. The Golden Hawks didn’t drop a single game in the round robin, going 8-for-8 while defeating Widdifield, Bur Oak, Weldon, and St. Joan of Arc.
In the quarterfinals, CKSS defeated Port Perry, winning 25-16, 25-20, and 25-13.
The Golden Hawks remained perfect in the semi-finals, as they again swept their match, this time against Beatrice Desloges, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23.
Facing Oakridge in the final, CKSS battled back and forth, before winning a dramatic tiebreaker fifth game, 15-12 to take home a provincial OFSAA title.
