Sarapnickas Leads York in Loss
Wallaceburg’s Erin Sarapnickas made a strong appearance for the York University Lions off the bench Saturday night in a 63-46 loss to the Brock Badgers.
After playing only 4 minutes in her OUA debut Friday against McMaster, Sarapnickas came onto the court to play 13 minutes Saturday. In that short period, the WDSS Tartans alumni scored at a torrid pace, knocking down 16-points.
Sarapnickas’ team high, and game high 16-points came while playing less than half the minutes of all but one York starter. The next highest Lions scorer, Courtney Osborne, had 9-points.
Sarapnickas was an impressive 4-for-5 from behind the three point arch in the game, and also picked up 5 rebounds.
Next weekend, the York Lions will host the Western Mustangs (November 16), and highly ranked Windsor Lancers (November 17).
In other OUA basketball news, Chatham native Erica McFadden scored 13-points for the University of Guelph Gryphons in a 55-50 loss Friday night to the Toronto Varsity Blues. Saturday in a 62-59 win over Ryerson, McFadden added 9-points.
